Pop art is undoubtedly the most universal form of artistic expression, for it tackles issues that can be understood by anyone, in a simple and straightforward manner. Its success, however, does not come simply form its semplicity and immediacy, in other words, from the fact that all art forms it is the only one that does not need explanations, but from the fact that it is a proactive form of visual culture. "Noting is more profound than what is on the surface" wrote Georg Hegel. Generally speaking, when a critic introduces the work of a young artist, there are two tendency. The first is to point the similarities and differences with those work within the same cultural system. The second is to make her the daughter of Warhol, Basquiat, Close etc etc. When some curator or collector says " this artists reminds me of the painter........................ "and splaff they slam the name , this young artist is branded for life. They take off her first and last name and the soul. Will forever daughter. Never will be Mother. This kind of curators and collectors prefer the easy fashion. They like house decorator. The artist is very happy to decore their houses. The main thing is to sell her self, to take money. These are the prostitutes of art. They sell the parents, their soul, their life for success. It normally lasts the duration of a season. Collection winter, spring, summer and fall. It is fashion. Nothing else. Roberta Diazzi does not run this risk. Why? She has a very precise idea of her job.. Art is effort, and hard work. Her artistic production is limited, like the best wine. Few works per year, by choice, but also for the technique that she uses. Enter the Swarovsky is painstaking work that only a good artisan can achieve.
